Makers, entrepreneurs and creatives from Belo Horizonte, get ready: November will be a month full of innovation and entrepreneurship events, with a lot of hands-on activities.
It all begins with Finit (Business, Innovation and Technology International Fair), an innovation fair that will be held at Expominas from October 31st to November 4th. There will be lectures, a business arena to connect large companies and startups and areas dedicated to innovation, creativity, and scientific initiatives. On November 1st, Campus Party starts – one of the biggest technology festivals in the world, which will also be part of Finit. Among the attractions, there will be workshops, lectures, championships and computer programming marathon (the famous hackathons), in an intense 24-hour schedule during five days. One of the attractions, which is already a tradition among participantes, is the possibility of camping inside the arena where the event will be held.
On November 2nd it is time for Mini Maker Faire, which will also happen within Finit’s program. The fair is a great celebration of the maker culture, with do-it-yourself activities, aimed to the whole family. The goal is to share knowledge with technology enthusiasts, artisans, scientists and all kinds of curious about inventions full of creativity.
After a brief pause, it’s time to gather in Praça da Liberdade, on November 10th, 11th and 12th, for Museomix, a creative marathon that happens simultaneously in 13 places of the world and seeks to re-signify museums’ collections in a creative, connected and participative way. A team of designers, artists, artisans, communicators, both professionals and amateurs, will use technology tools, 3D printing and many innovative ideas to build devices to mediate the public and the collections of museums within Circuito Liberdade. In addition to the work of museomixers, the program includes workshops, lectures and other attractions for all ages.
Finit is held by P7 Creative, a non-profit development agency formed by a partnership among Minas Gerais Government, Sebrae Minas, Codemig, Fiemg System, Sedectes (Secretariat of Economic Development, Science, Technology and Higher Education) and João Pinheiro Foundation. Museomix has its origins in France and will be brought to BH by Iepha-MG (State Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage of Minas Gerais), through Circuito Liberdade and Sedectes.
If you do not live in the city, you still have time to buy tickets and join the activities!
